Italian club to sign Maurizio Sarri in the summer?
AS Roma are prepared to offer Maurizio Sarri a route back to the Serie A, should Chelsea dismiss him from the head coach role between now and the end of the season.
Sarri only joined the Blues during the month of July and the club started the season in top form as they remained unbeaten through the first 12 games across all competitions.
However, the Capital outfit have since gone through a mixed run of results across all competitions and a recent streak of five defeats from 10 matches has put Sarri's position under doubt.
According to La Repubblica, Roma are considering the dismissal of Eusebio di Francesco from the managerial role in the summer and they have earmarked Sarri as a probable replacement.
It is added that Roma chief Franco Baldini has already discussed the same with Sarri in advance and the Italian could be offered the job, should the Blues sack him in the near future.
Chelsea are scheduled to face Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur in their next two matches and reports suggest that failure in both of those matches should see Sarri axed from the helm.
