Barca decide against loan approach for Sanchez

Barcelona have reportedly declined the chance to sign Alexis Sanchez on a temporary basis from Manchester United in the summer.

The Chile international had previously been touted for a possible return to the Camp Nout when he was at the peak of his powers at Arsenal.

However, his form has dipped drastically in his 14 months at Old Trafford with just five goals resulting from his 41 appearances across all competitions for United.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has no plans of featuring Sanchez in his term next term once he is confirmed as the club's permanent head coach.

Still, the Red Devils are not in a position to offload Sanchez permanently due to his hefty wages, and it is claimed that Blaugrana will not be making an approach to sign the attacker on a season-long loan.

Paris Saint-Germain were previously linked with a move for the Chilean, but they have likewise dropped their interest amid the unexpected and significant dip in form for the 30-year-old.

Sanchez is presently on the sidelines with a knee injury which is likely to sideline him for the rest of the campaign. He has more than three years remaining on his existing deal.
