Manchester United planning swoop for Atletico Madrid star

Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a summer swoop for long-term target and Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann.

The Frenchman was heavily linked with a switch to Barcelona during the summer of 2018 but he snubbed their advances to pen a new deal with Atleti.

However, this has not ceased the resulting speculation over his future and according to AS, United could be offered the chance to sign the Frenchman in the summer.

Griezmann has enjoyed another good season with Atleti where he has contributed 18 goals in all competitions but it is suggested that he is after a fresh challenge.

Elsewhere, reports indicate that his release clause could drop to around £102m at the beginning of June, thereby making him affordable for the Red Devils among others.

Barcelona have also been linked with the former Real Sociedad man this month and it has been indicated that Griezmann has personally apologised to the Blaugrana hierarchy for his actions last year.
