Manchester United want Premier League ace to replace Ander Herrera?

Ander Herrera news

Gueye wanted as Herrera's replacement?

Manchester United are reportedly looking into a move for Everton's Idrissa Gueye as they seek to find a replacement for outgoing midfielder Ander Herrera.

Herrera has been with the Red Devils for the past four-and-a-half seasons, but his future remains uncertain with his current contract due to expire at the end of the campaign.

As such, the club are already seeking suitable replacements and London Evening Standard claims that the club are considering an approach for Toffees midfielder Gueye.

Gueye was denied the opportunity to join Paris Saint-Germain from Everton in January, but the 29-year-old has indicated that he could push for a big-club move during the summer.

At present, United have made no progress in terms of extending the contract of Herrera, as they remain reluctant to match his £200,000-a-week wage demands.

The Spaniard is currently on a £130,000-a-week package with the Red Devils and the hierarchy are not prepared to offer him with a significantly hike on the contract extension.
