Rashford close to new United contract

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is reportedly on the verge of penning a new long-term contract to end any speculation regarding his future.

The 21-year-old enjoyed a good campaign with the Red Devils with 13 goals and nine assists last term, but his form dipped during the final months of the campaign which led to criticism from some fans.

According to The Star, the England international has no concerns with regards to his current situation at the club and he is prepared to sign a new contract irrespective of the side's failure to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Rashford is currently on a £75,000-a-week salary at the Mancunian giants and reports indicate that his wages could be tripled at the least as the club seek to commit him for the next five years.

The youngster did not have the best of endings to the season with United as they finished sixth in the league, but he will be hoping to impress for England in this summer's Nations League finals.
