Manchester United have reportedly increased the asking price for midfielder Paul Pogba amid his representative's attempt to push through a move to Real Madrid.

The Frenchman recently admitted that he would prefer a fresh challenge away from Old Trafford and his agent Mino Raiola has gone further to suggest that he is in the process of finalising the midfielder's transfer to another team.

In the wake of those comments, United are understood to have increased on the £150m price tag for the Frenchman and they are looking for a fee close to the world-record £198m spent by Paris Saint-Germain to sign Neymar two years ago, Standard Sport claims.

At present, Juventus and Real Madrid have been touted as potential candidates to pursue the Frenchman but the latter seem to have the more realistic chance of discussing a straight-cash deal.

Still, they are not in position to meet the asking price and it remains to be seen whether they can accumulate sufficient funds from player sales to land the World Cup winner.
