Manchester United plan £100,000 a week contract offer for Portuguese attacker

United seek to agree personal terms with Fernandes

Manchester United are reportedly willing to offer Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes with a £100,000 a week package in order to tempt him to join the club this summer.

The Red Devils are on the hunt for a new midfielder with the departure of Ander Herrera and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has earmarked Fernandes as the prime target.

According to The Mirror, the Red Devils are likely to make a £30m approach to sign the Portuguese in the coming days but the proposal is expected to be below Sporting's £50m price tag.

Despite this, the club are said to be making progress over the personal terms with the midfielder, and it is suggested that they could offer around £5.5m annually to entice him to push through a move.

Fernandes bagged a stunning tally of 32 goals and 18 assists during the previous campaign with Sporting. The sublime run of form saw him feature for Portugal during their Nations League triumph.
