McLeish: we may go down

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has admitted that his side may be relegated from the Premiership this season. His team have been in very bad form of late, and a defeat to Reading at the weekend has seen the Blues slip to 17th in the Premiership.

"You can't say that it won't happen," McLeish said. "And you can't say that if Steve (Bruce) was still here, it wouldn't happen.

"I'm realistic and that allows me to focus on what's ahead. If I was to bury my head in the sand and start worrying about, 'I could be the man who takes them down', I wouldn't be able to do my job right."
