Manchester United goalkeeper joins Sheffield United on loan
Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has returned to Sheffield United on a season-long loan shortly after penning a new contract with the Red Devils.
Henderson was unlikely to make the breakthrough with the Mancunian giants next term and it had been expected that he would pursue a fresh challenge with another Premier League side.
It has now been revealed that the goalkeeper has made the loan return with Sheffield United but not before extending his contract with United for another four seasons.
“Dean had a fantastic season at Sheffield United and has a big future ahead of him so I am delighted that he has signed this contract," Solskjaer told the club's official website.
Henderson was ever-present for Sheffield during the course of the previous campaign and he managed to keep 21 clean sheets for the Blades, who possessed the joint-best defensive record alongside Middlesbrough in the Championship.
A repeat of the same appears unlikely with the difficulty in terms of the challenge, but the Blades will be hoping that he can have a consistent season as they seek to beat the drop.
