Tottenham Hotspur encourage Manchester United bid for 27-year-old star
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly urging Manchester United to lodge a formal approach to secure the signature of Christian Eriksen.
The north London side have made no progress in terms of a contract extension for the Dane and this sees them with the risk of losing him on a free in 12 months' time.
According to The Manchester Evening News, Spurs are aware of the interest from the Red Devils in Eriksen and they have offered their rivals with the opportunity to sign the 27-year-old.
Still, a move does not remain straightforward and the Red Devils are reluctant to open discussions with the north London side as they have to deal with a tough negotiator in the form of club chairman Daniel Levy.
Eriksen made 51 appearances for Spurs across all competitions last term as the club reached their first-ever Champions League final. He had been linked with Real Madrid in the past but they have yet to make a formal approach.
