Manchester United plan January bid for England attacker
Manchester United will reportedly make an approach to sign James Maddison from Leicester City when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
The Red Devils suffered a 2- 1 loss to Crystal Palace in the recent league clash and this has already left them five points behind table-toppers Liverpool.
According to The Mirror, the club are likely to recruit a creative playmaker in the New Year after failing to do so during the recently-concluded transfer window.
The same report suggests that Maddison has been earmarked as the prime target but the club may struggle to find the breakthrough over a transfer deal with the Foxes.
The east Midlands outfit played hardball over the negotiations for Harry Maguire until a £80m fee was agreed earlier this month and it is claimed that the Foxes would demand a similar fee for Maddison.
Still, they have generally been reluctant to lose their players at the midstage of the season and they are most likely to reject the advances from the Red Devils.
Maddison bagged seven goals and seven assists in his maiden Premier League season last term. He has started the new campaign in good form with two assists from three appearances.
