Chelsea plan to hold fresh contract talks with experienced forward

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to hold fresh contract talks with Willian, who has openly stated his ambition to remain with the club.

The Brazilian has contributed three goals and three assists for the Blues this term and he has been one of their leading performers under Lampard.

Still, his future has remained a regular talking point with his current deal due to expire next summer but the Blues are hopeful of finding the breakthrough in time.

According to The Telegraph, the Blues are aware of the imminent interest from Barcelona, who are looking at the prospect of signing the Brazilian on a pre-contract deal in January.

As a result, there are prepared to propose a new offer on the table and are hoping to put an end to the 'bizarre contract standoff' with the former Shakhtar Donetsk man.

Willian has started the last nine Premier League games on the trot for the Blues and he is expected to command a similar role when Aston Villa make the trip to Stamford Bridge this weekend.
