Haaland set for January exit from Salzburg

Red Bull Salzburg forward Erling Braut Haaland is reportedly keen on sorting out his future before Christmas such that he can join his new club at the beginning of the year.

The Norway international has been in exceptional form for Salzburg this term and he has notched 28 goals from just 22 appearances in all competitions.

This has caught the attention of several high-profile teams including United, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund but the former have been touted as favourites to land his services.

According to German outlet Bild, Haaland wants a clear idea regarding his future ahead of the New Year and he would prefer to hold talks with interested sides by Christmas.

Haaland's current contract has a release clause of £17m, which is affordable for most of his suitors but he is said to want the assurance of a starting role  with his next European club.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has refused to comment on the speculation regarding the young forward but the Red Devils may have the edge with the 46-year-old having previously managed Haaland at Molde.
