Fernandes desperate to join Man United

Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes is reportedly desperate to make the switch to Manchester United during the ongoing transfer window.

The Portuguese was fancied to move to the Premier League with either United or Spurs last summer but both of those sides were put off by the £70m price tag.

According to O Jogo, the Red Devils have reopened negotiations with Sporting for the playmaker, who is seemingly desperate to head to Old Trafford before the end of the month.

The Red Devils had some reservations over a move for the Portuguese last summer due to his average passing success rate (75) but they seem to have reignited their interest after tracking his progress in recent months.

The former Sampdoria man has excelled for Sporting for yet another season and he has amassed eight goals and six assists from just 19 appearances in the league and European matches.

United are likely to make an offer of around £55m for the Portuguese this month and reports claim that Sporting are likely to permit the player's departure for that price.
