Frank Lampard reacts to Chelsea's shock defeat at Newcastle United
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has admitted that the Premier League defeat to Newcastle United is a tough one to take, given the Blues dominated the proceedings at St James' Park.
The Blues were in control of most of the possession on Saturday evening but they conceded in the dying seconds of the game shortly after gifting the Magpies with their first corner.
Speaking after the loss, Lampard was frustrated with the result but insisted that his team gave everything to get the three points at St James' Park, where they don't have the best of records.
"Frank Lampard has arrived to speak to the media. He starts by saying our inability to score cost us the result, but he adds his team 'gave everything to try and win the game'," he was quoted as saying by Chelsea's official Twitter account.
Chelsea are still five points ahead of Manchester United in the race for the fourth spot but their advantage could be reduced to two points, should the Red Devils register a surprise win over Liverpool on Sunday.
