United to swoop for Bellingham

Manchester United are reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign Birmingham City's Jude Bellingham ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils were linked with a January move for the Championship starlet but nothing materialised beyond the initial speculation in the media.

Despite this, United have continuously been associated with the 16-year-old's services and The Mail claims that Ed Woodward had recently held a meeting with the player's parents at the Carrington complex.

Meanwhile, a separate report from Manchester Evening News claims that Bellingham was also present in the location where he was given a tour of the club's training facilities.

Borussia Dortmund have recently been regarded as the favourites to sign Bellingham but it appears that United have made the early move to lure the young prospect to the club this summer.

The 16-year-old is capable of playing anywhere in the midfield or the attack. He has contributed four goals and two assists during his debut campaign with Birmingham.

Bellingham is likely to sign a professional contract with the west Midlands side this summer regardless of whether he stays with them or not. The Blues are expected to demand a package of around £30m for his sale.
