Arsenal, Manchester United interested in French midfielder

Corentin Tolisso news

Tolisso heading to the Premier League?

Arsenal and Manchester United are reportedly in the running to Bayern Munich playmaker Corentin Tolisso, who has been deemed surplus to requirements.

The Frenchman made the move to Bayern from Lyon in the summer of 2017 and he had an impressive debut campaign where he contributed 10 goals and seven assists from 40 appearances.

However, he sustained a serious knee injury during the early stages of his second season and he has since struggled to live up to his expectations with just three goals from the next 24 outings.

According to Foot Mercato, the 25-year-old is free to leave the German giants in the summer and reports claim that both Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in signing him.

Tolisso is primarily a central midfielder by trade and he could replace Daniel Ceballos at the Emirates, given the Spaniard is expected to return to Real Madrid when his loan stint expires during the summer.

United, on the other hand, are looking for a versatile midfielder in their ranks. Tolisso, who is also capable of playing in the attacking or holding midfield positions, may fit into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's plans.
