PSV close in on Eredivisie title
Timmy Simons and Jefferson Farfan were on the scoresheet as PSV defeated Heracles Almelo 2-0 to move the side a step closer of the Eredivisie championship; five points clear of their nearest rivals Ajax.
PSV Eindhoven know now that a win against fourth placed FC Twente next week will be enough to secure the Eredivisie title.
Timmy Simons got PSV Eindhoven off the mark with a cracking goal on 12 minutes, smashing the ball home past the Heracles keeper.
PSV doubled their lead when Peruvian forward Farfan - a target for Arsenal and Man City - nabbed a great goal with ten minutes to go.
PSV coach Sef Vergoossen said after the game: "The game started very difficult for us, and a tough second half but we deserved to win.
"When the game tightened up it went better for us. We could rest after the first goal and push for the second goal. Heracles had very few chances, and we were the better side. Individual class decided at the end of the game."
