Villa want Bouma new deal
Aston Villa are hopeful of securing a new deal for Dutch defender Wilfried Bouma. The Dutch defender is not 'fed up' despite what the press have stated, according to the Villa boss.
âWeâve got an option for another year, but I would want to be sitting down with Freddie and his agent and seeing about the possibility of even extending it further," O'Neill told the club's website.
âWeâll have to see. Iâd like to see whatâs on Freddieâs mind first of all; he might be absolutely and utterly fed-up with us!
âBut in terms of this season, heâs been ever present and thatâs terrific.
âI thought his first-half performance on Saturday was really terrific, considering after a couple of minutes he let the ball run under his foot and then he sliced a clearance right across the goal.
âAfter that he settled down and for the next 25 minutes I thought he was absolutely outstanding. Thatâs very pleasing.â
