Confirmed Liverpool line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Robertson starts
Liverpool will be aiming to extend their gap at top of the Premier League table when they host Aston Villa tonight.
The Reds sealed a comfortable 4-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League in midweek.
From that game, manager Arne Slot has made a couple of surprise changes.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-up:
Caoimhin Kelleher continues in goal for the Reds with Alisson Becker sidelined with a hamstring problem.
In defence, there is a surprise change at left-back with Andy Robertson getting the nod over Kostas Tsimikas.
The rest of the backline stays the same.
Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate start in central defence with Trent Alexander-Arnold featuring at right-back.
Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister have been the best midfield pairing for the Reds in the current season.
Curtis Jones has fared better than Dominic Szoboszlai in the no.10 role and there are no surprises that he starts again.
Elsewhere, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz feature on the right and left wing. The latter was sensational in midweek with a hat-trick.
Up front, Darwin Nunez surprisingly gets the nod over Cody Gakpo despite the Dutchman scoring in the rout of Leverkusen.
Confirmed Liverpool line-up (4-2-3-1): Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Jones, Diaz; Nunez.
