Manchester United are prepared to formally end their interest in signing Jadon Sancho unless Borussia Dortmund are willing to reduce their price tag.

The England international has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, but a deal has failed to materialise due to the hefty £108m asking price.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils believe the demands of Dortmund are unrealistic with the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic and they could walk away from the negotiations unless the fee is reduced.

The Bundesliga outfit are yet to change their stance on the player's future, considering he still has nearly three years remaining on his contract after the renewal last summer.

Sancho's wages were increased via a performance-related clause last year and that also saw his contract extended by another 12 months. Hence, the club are in no rush to sanction his sale.

Manchester United have made just one signing in the form of Donny van de Beek from Ajax this summer. They are still on the hunt for a new right winger and centre-back.
