Manchester United close to signing Brazilian defender?
Manchester United are reportedly close to landing the signature of Alex Telles from Porto this summer.
The Brazil international had a fantastic 2019/2020 season with the Primeira Liga outfit, where he registered 13 goals and 12 assists from the left-back position.
Telles is now expected to be on the move after turning down a new contract beyond June 2021, and A Bola claims that the Red Devils are ahead of Wolverhampton Wanderers in the race to sign him.
The player currently has a release clause of £37m on his contract, but reports claim that Porto could be prepared to sanction his sale for a lesser fee of around £28m.
Telles' agent is reported to have already held talks with the Red Devils in Manchester and it remains to be seen whether the transfer can be finalised in the near future.
Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams are currently the regular left-back choices for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but the former's injury concerns could be a reason behind the club's pursuit of Telles.
