Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly ruled out the prospect of signing a new centre-back following the club's 3-2 comeback win at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Red Devils have made an average beginning to the current season and they only scrapped through a victory at Brighton after a late penalty from Bruno Fernandes.

Speaking after the game, Solskjaer emphasised that the club are not looking into the purchase of a new centre-back and added that there are 'good enough centre-backs' in the squad.

"We've got many defenders here and I put Eric (Bailly) on to bolster the defence, following the runs of [Leandro] Trossard and [Neal] Maupay." He told via BBC Sport.

"For me, we've got enough good centre-backs here at the moment. When you concede chances and concede goals, there are two different things you can look at - it's either the team shape, or are there any individual mistakes."

The Red Devils have conceded five goals from their opening two games of the new Premier League season. As things stand, they are in the bottom half of the table in 13th spot with three points.

They are scheduled to face Tottenham Hotspur in their next league meeting at Old Trafford. Solskjaer's side may have the advantage on the fitness front with Spurs due to play two games in midweek.
