Dayot Upamecano could join Manchester United on one condition
RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano could consider a move to Manchester United next summer, provided they are able to offer Champions League football.
Upamecano's previous deal was due to expire at the end of the current season, but Leipzig were unable to convince him to sign a fresh three-year contract.
However, the deal includes a low release clause of £38m which will become active when the ongoing campaign reaches its conclusion.
According to The Mirror, Upamecano may be tempted to consider a fresh challenge next summer after acknowledging talks with multiple clubs.
United are one of the main admirers of the centre-back, but they will need to guarantee Champions League football for him to join them.
Upamecano will come up against United in the Champions League this term. Paris Saint-Germain have also been drawn in the same group as United and Leipzig.
Aside from United, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Liverpool have also been regularly linked with his services. Upamecano is currently on international duty with France.
