James has been a revelation since arriving from his long loan spell at Wigan and has shown major signs of improvements in his game, looking firm at right back and a regular pick for Frank Lampard in recent games, dispatching club captain Azpi.

At just 20 and with such quality in his game, the young Englishman has had call ups to the English senior side, putting in incredible performances when called upon with being arguably the best player on the pitch in the game against Denmark.

With competition from Liverpool star and young Player of the year Trent, not forgetting Walker and Trippier, Reece's performances has given Southgate no chance of leaving him on the bench in recent matches with the match against Denmark being his best game so far in an England shirt.

Following his actions at full time in confronting referee Jesus Gil Manzano in the Denmark game, Reece has been slapped with a 2-match ban after he was shown a red card by the referee. Reece, who was making his full international debut looked annoyed at full time with regards to the referees' poor officiating during the game and in confronting referee Manzano, was shown a straight red.

Hence, James will have no spot in the England squad when Southgate presents his squad for upcoming international qualifiers, but is eligible to play in the friendly against Ireland.
