Manchester United close to signing South American forward
Manchester United are reportedly close to finalising the transfer of Moises Caicedo from Independiente del Valle.
The 19-year-old made his breakthrough with the Ecuadorian side this season and he has bagged six goals and two assists from 28 appearances across all competitions.
Earlier this month, West Ham United were credited with an interest in signing him, but Fabrizio Romano claims that the Red Devils have jumped ahead in the player's pursuit.
It is added that the club are in advanced negotiations with the player's representatives and a deal worth £4.5m could be finalised for his transfer next month.
Caicedo has already represented the Ecuadorian national side on four occasions, scoring one goal. He could reportedly sign a five-year deal with United next summer, provided he is granted his work permit.
Manchester United are currently flying high in the Premier League and they have accumulated 26 points after 13 games. They are currently five points behind leaders Liverpool with a game in hand.
