China starlet Mao Jianqing is set to be given the chance to make a move to the Premiership this summer. Sven-Goran Eriksson has a large Asian scouting network at his disposal, and City are keen to sign the Chinese international for commercial and financial gain.

Mao Jianqing isn't just any average player, however, and two years ago even Arsene Wenger reportedly offered the Chinese winger the opportunity to come to Arsenal on trial.

Jianqing's second trial in England took place in January; and this time the winger had international experience under his belt which will help his chances of securing a work permit.

The 21 year old currently plays for Shanghai Shenhua, and plays alongside ex Middlesbrough striker Hamilton Ricard for the Chinese side.

Jianqing has bags of pace, a strong finish and a lot of potential; and is comfortable playing anywhere on the wing or up front.

Man City will potentially need to pay around £1.5 million to secure the signing of the Chinese international.
