Liverpool and Chelsea to compete with Bayern for centre-back
Liverpool and Chelsea are prepared to compete with Bayern Munich in the race to sign Dayot Upamecano during the summer transfer window.
The centre-back has been with RB Leipzig for the past four years, but he has been tipped to leave the club at the end of the season.
Bayern have been fancied to trigger the £38m release clause on his contract which will become active in the month of June.
However, reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Blues and Reds are also interested in landing the Frenchman.
Bayern have yet to hold formal negotiations with Leipzig regarding the player, but they have held a meeting with his representatives.
While Upamecano reportedly prefers to stay in the Bundesliga, the Premier League duo are still hopeful of convincing him to join them.
Upamecano has made more than 125 appearances for Leipzig since his move from sister club Red Bull Salzburg during the 2017 winter transfer window.
