Real Madrid set asking price for Raphael Varane
Manchester United and Liverpool have been put on alert with Real Madrid prepared to listen to offers for Raphael Varane during the summer.
Varane has been with the Spanish champions for nearly a decade but his future is uncertain with his contract expiring in June 2022.
The club have sought to hold negotiations over a renewal, but so far, they have been unable to make any breakthrough.
According to AS, Los Blancos are reluctant to allow the Frenchman to stay next season unless he puts pen-to-paper on a new contract.
It is added that they are willing to consider bids of around £61m for the centre-back, suppose he does not agree to fresh terms by the summer.
United are long-term admirers of the Frenchman and they failed with an approach to sign him during the 2019 summer transfer window.
They may renew their pursuit in case the defender becomes available for purchase. Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest.
