Johnson will get new City deal

Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson is likely to sign a new deal, according to boss Sven-Goran Eriksson, who also rubbished rumours that Liverpool were lining up an £11 million move for the midfielder.

"I have heard that same rumour ever since I joined the club last summer and we have still not been contacted by Liverpool," Eriksson told the Manchester Evening News.

"It was only last summer that Michael signed a new contract and we have already said that we will talk about another one when this season is over."
