Arsenal boss provides injury update on Alexandre Lacazette
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Alexandre Lacazette picked up a hamstring injury during the 1-1 league draw against Fulham today.
The Frenchman has been in fine form for the Gunners during the backend of the campaign, and recently scored back-to-back braces.
He could not replicate the display against the Cottagers, and was substituted in the 70th-minute mark with an apparent hamstring problem.
Speaking after the derby draw, Arteta confirmed the setback for the marksman, and said that a medical assessment will be done on Tuesday.
He told Arsenal.com: "We’ll have to see. We’ll have the scan, probably on Tuesday, to see the extent of the injury and the timeline for it."
When asked about a potential return date, Arteta said that he can't provide a timescale as the striker could be out for any period of time.
He added: "Yes. But I don’t know, I cannot tell if it’s going to be a week, two weeks, five weeks or six weeks."
The Gunners are currently lying ninth in the Premier League standings with 46 points, nine adrift of the top four.
