Manchester United midfielder James Garner could be loaned out to a foreign club for the 2021/22 campaign, The Mirror reports.

Garner spent time on loan with Watford and Nottingham Forest this season, and he was particularly impressive for the latter.

The defensive midfielder bagged four goals in 20 outings for Forest, and there have been calls from the fans to integrate him into the first-team.

However, according to The Mirror, United would prefer the 20-year-old gaining more first-team experience away from the club.

There is interest from Forest and several Premier League clubs, but United are looking for a temporary stint with an overseas outfit.

Garner, who has made seven appearances for United, has also been linked with a potential move to Scotland with Rangers.

The Scottish champions approached to sign him in January, but Forest managed to win the race for the midfielder's services.

Garner has yet to make his Premier League debut for the Red Devils.
