Chelsea enter race to sign Atletico Madrid star

Chelsea have joined Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the race to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez this summer.

Niguez has spent his entire career with Diego Simeone's side, and recently won the La Liga title with them for a second time.

However, he struggled for form throughout the campaign, and was in-and-out of the starting line-up for the league matches.

He is no longer indispensable to the club, and the Spanish champions are prepared to sell him amid their financial debts.

It was recently claimed that Bayern had agreed to pay around £68m for the 26-year-old, who was in the Real Madrid youth ranks.

However, that appears wide off the mark. AS claims that there is plenty of offers with Chelsea, United and Paris Saint-Germain keeping tabs.

Back in 2017, Niguez signed a stunning nine-year contract with Atletico. he has another five years remaining on the existing deal.

Atletico are willing to stay patient and assess all offers before sanctioning the departure of the Spain international.
