Arsenal confident of landing £50m-rated defender
Arsenal are confident of landing the signature of Brighton & Hove Albion defender Ben White, reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano claims.
The Gunners have been in constant negotiations with the Seagulls for the centre-back, but they have yet to finalise a deal.
Their opening bid of £40m plus add-ons was rejected. Their renewed proposal of around £42m plus add-ons was also snubbed.
Brighton are looking for an initial fee of at least £50m, but Romano claims that the Gunners are confident of sealing the deal.
The defender has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners through his agent, and has reportedly begun house-hunting.
He has reportedly told his close friends that he expects to join the north London giants, though a deal has not been agreed.
Aside from White, the Gunners have been actively negotiating with several players, and they are close to signing two of them.
They are expected to announce the arrivals of Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga from Benfica and Anderlecht respectively.
