Arsenal to terminate contract of defender
Arsenal have decided to terminate the contract of left-back Sead Kolasinac, Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur claims.
The Bosnian is deemed surplus to requirements, and it appears that he could leave for Fenerbahce on a free transfer.
Kolasinac recently entered the final year of his £100,000-a-week deal. He has sacrificed some of his bonuses for a mutual release.
No official statement has been made, but it is reported that the defender will sign a two-year contract at Fenerbahce.
The Istanbul giants will have the option for another season. The move has reportedly been orchestrated by Mesut Ozil.
Ozil shared a fond relationship with Kolasinac at Arsenal. The German is said to have recommended his signing after joining Fener.
The Gunners were initially aiming to sell him for €3m, but with the lack of offers, they have accepted his release to lower their wage bill.
Kolasinac was recently an unused substitute in the 2-0 league defeat to Chelsea.
