Basel planning make fresh move for Liverpool ace
Basel are weighing up a fresh approach for Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius ahead of the winter transfer window, Bild claims.
The 28-year-old was touted to leave the Reds permanently this summer, but a transfer did not materialise before the deadline.
Karius has no route back to the first-team squad, and it is claimed that the Reds will look to offload him for good in January.
He has already entered the final year of his contract. There are suggestions that he could leave for free as early as January.
Basel were interested in landing the shot-stopper earlier this summer, but talks broke down due to his wage requirements.
They are prepared to try again at the turn of the year, and there is plenty of optimism that personal terms will be finalised this time around.
Karius has previously spent time on loan with Besiktas and Union Berlin. He is now close to ending his five-year association with the Reds.
