Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel confirms interest in Bundesliga star
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that the club contemplated an approach for Erling Braut Haaland.
The Blues wanted to sign an elite striker in the last transfer window, and Haaland was highlighted as an option.
However, they ended up recruiting Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan for £97.5m as they could not afford Haaland.
The Norwegian was valued at a staggering £150m by Borussia Dortmund which put the Blues off from making an offer.
Speaking to Bild, Tuchel has now confirmed that the Blues were discussing a move for Haaland, but it was not absolutely feasible.
Haaland will be available for just £65m next summer due to a release clause, and Tuchel has refused to rule out a move.
The 20-year-old has been in excellent form for Dortmund this term, bagging 13 goals and four assists from just 10 games.
He is likely to head for the exit door next summer unless Dortmund convince him to ignore interest from elite European clubs.
