Manchester United agree fee with Brazilian club for midfielder
Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Flamengo over the permanent exit of Andreas Pereira.
Pereira linked up with the Serie A giants on loan last summer with an option for buy for around €20 million.
Flamengo recently entered talks to lower the transfer fee, and UOL claims that they have succeeded in doing so.
The club have agreed to pay €14m up front for the Brazilian ace, who is expected to sign a contract until 2026.
Pereira was deemed surplus to requirements by United last summer, and he has managed to revive his career in Brazil.
The midfielder has amassed five goals and one assist from 24 games for Flamengo, and he is set to stay for long.
United could benefit from his time at Flamengo as they could receive as much as €6m in performance-based add-ons.
The funds recouped from his departure should be useful for the hierarchy ahead of this summer's transfer window.
A new defensive midfielder remains a top priority ahead of next season.
