Nkunku to Man Utd?

Manchester United are expected to step up their interest in Christopher Nkunku following the recommendation of Ralf Rangnick.

Rangnick was appointed as the interim boss in December. The club have since been linked with several players due to the German's presence.

The 63-year-old has good knowledge about Bundesliga football, and most particularly on Leipzig, where he worked for several years.

According to ESPN, Rangnick has now urged the hierarchy to pursue Nkunku, who has had an excellent campaign for Leipzig so far.

He has netted 19 goals alongside 13 assists from just 31 appearances, and has been touted to pursue a bigger challenge this summer.

Leipzig are reluctant to sell him for at least another campaign, but a significant bid on the table could test their resolve later this year.

United won't be alone in the player's pursuit. Premier League rivals Arsenal have been long-term admirers of the 24-year-old playmaker.

Nkunku started his career as a central midfielder, but has been transformed into a genuine number 10 at Leipzig. He can also play out wide.
