Man Utd ready to meet price for Barcelona star

Manchester United are prepared to meet the asking price to sign Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.

The Red Devils are keen on pursuing a new central defender this summer amid the inconsistent displays of Harry Maguire.

Araujo is one of the prime transfer targets, and El Nacional claims that they are ready to meet the Blaugrana's valuation.

The 23-year-old has less than 15 months remaining on his contract, and has yet to be convinced over a possible renewal.

There is currently a big difference in the wage package, and this could pave the way for his summer exit from Camp Nou.

United are one of the main admirers of the Uruguayan. It is now reported that they are ready to pay whatever it takes.

Barcelona are likely to demand around €40m for the centre-back, who is also on the radar of Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The Uruguayan prefers to continue with the Blaugrana, but has no plans of renewing unless the club meet his demands.
