Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to enter the race to sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger this summer.

The north London giants are long-term admirers of the German, and they tried to sign him on loan during the 2020 summer transfer window.

Rudiger was also eager to leave, but his career has since transformed under manager Thomas Tuchel, who was appointed in January 2021.

The 28-year-old has been an assured starter in the club's backline, but it appears he is willing to leave them when his contract expires on June 30.

Tottenham have been linked with him regularly, but Football Insider claims that they are unlikely to revive their pursuit of the central defender.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte has previously worked with Rudiger at Chelsea, but a reunion seems unlikely with the German also looking elsewhere.

Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have all been in contact, but Barcelona could be favourites to sign him at the end of the ongoing campaign.

The Catalan giants recently held a secret meeting with Rudiger's brother and agent in Barcelona. The appointment lasted for three hours.
