Man Utd midfield target set to leave Premier League club
Manchester United midfield target Ruben Neves is expected to pursue a fresh challenge away from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Portuguese has been with the Midlands outfit for the past five seasons, but he is now looking to pursue trophies elsewhere.
According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, Wolves are braced for Neves' departure when the transfer window reopens.
United have been one of his long-term admirers, and they could lodge a formal approach for his services during the summer.
Scott McTominay, Fred and Nemanja Matic are presently the holding midfielders in the first-team squad at United.
McTominay and Fred have been the regular starters, but the former's form has been largely questionable in recent weeks.
The club are yearning for a quality holding midfielder. Neves could be the perfect fit with his vast Premier League experience.
Neves has just over two years left on his existing deal. It has been claimed in the past that he could be available for £40 million.
