Benjamin Sesko wanted by Arsenal

Arsenal have sent their head scout to monitor the progress of Slovenia international and Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko. The 18-year-old has impressed since moving from his homeland to Austria, and his club could sell the forward for a fee in the region of around 17 million euros.

The Gunners have been linked with several strikers this summer as the club search for long term successors to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who departed Arsenal for Barcelona, as well as current primary striker Alexandre Lacazette. All signs point to a summer exit for the Frenchman, with his former club Lyon ready to make an offer for the player. Lacazette's contract expires on July 1st.

Sesko has already made 9 appearances for his country at international level, and after an impressive loan spell at feeder club FC Liefering, Sesko returned to the Austrian Bundesliga and has scored three goals so far this campaign.

Arsenal are ready to poach the youngster now at a lower fee rather than wait for his price to likely balloon. RB Salzburg often sell on their players to RB Leipzig of the German Bundesliga, where players often showcase their talents before moving on to another top flight club.

Mikel Arteta is keen to sign at least two new strikers as Eddie Nketiah is also likely to depart on a free transfer.
