Man Utd handed boost in signing Barcelona man

De Jong wanted by Man Utd

Manchester United have been handed a big boost in signing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

The Dutchman has been a key player for the Catalan giants in recent seasons, but could head for the exit door this summer.

According to Catalunya Radio, the Blaugrana need to balance their financial books and are aiming for a big sale before June 30.

De Jong is one of the players under consideration. It is claimed that they could sanction his sale if they receive around €70 million.

The midfielder has been identified as a priority target for United. Their chances of signing him could be boosted by Erik ten Hag's arrival.

Ten Hag has accepted the manager's job from the end of the campaign. De Jong is reportedly open to reuniting with the Dutch tactician.

United are expected to target 'more technical players' this summer. The majority of the signings could be under Ten Hag's recommendation.

The Red Devils are looking to pursue at least five players, but Ralf Rangnick recently said that the club may require more incomings for next season.
