Ronaldo set for Man Utd stay next term

Incoming Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has opted to keep Cristiano Ronaldo in his plans for next season.

The Dutchman was appointed as United's new head coach last month. He will take charge at the end of the campaign.

One of the main talking points has been Ronaldo's future, but The Telegraph claims that Ten Hag won't look to offload him.

Ronaldo has netted 24 goals during his homecoming season and Ten Hag is happy to work with the Portuguese next term.

However, the 37-year-old will need to accept that he won't be a regular in the starting line-up with new strikers lined up.

Ten Hag is keen on signing a marquee centre-forward, who can potentially offer strong competition to Ronaldo up front.

He is also eyeing a young striker for the future. The club are currently looking into a deal for Reims' Hugo Ekitike.

The Frenchman could be available for just £13m this summer, but United face competition from Bayern and Arsenal.
