Man Utd ready to make formal offer for Portuguese defender

Inacio set for Man Utd move

Manchester United are ready to make an official bid to sign Sporting Lisbon defender Goncalo Inacio, A Bola claims.

The Red Devils are looking for a new central defender this summer, and the onus could be on pursuing a young player with potential.

They have been keeping tabs on Inacio for the past few months, and A Bola reports that the club are now prepared to make a formal transfer offer.

Inacio's contract has a release clause worth €45 million, but the Red Devils are prepared to pay €40 million up front with the remaining in add-ons.

They are expected to make an official bid in the coming days knowing that there could be more high-profile interest in the near future.

Inacio is a left-footed centre-back. He has impressed with his distribution, tackling and concentration. He has a bright future ahead.

Newcastle are also interested in him, having failed with a January bid, but they are unlikely to offer much competition to United.
