Newcastle United keen on signing Man Utd star

Newcastle United have set their sights on landing Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson this summer.

The Magpies were keen on signing the England international on a short-term loan in January, but a deal did not materialise.

They are prepared to try again at the end of the season, and The Telegraph claims that they could make another loan proposal.

United are still undecided over Henderson's future, but they could be tempted to sanction a temporary exit if he is reluctant to stay.

David de Gea has been the undisputed goalkeeper this season, but there are doubts whether he can adapt under manager Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman prefers shot-stoppers, who can play out from the back as well as being able to make regular claims coming off their line.

De Gea is gifted with excellent reflexes between the sticks, but has been far from convincing with the ball at his feet during his career.

Hence, Henderson could have a future at United. He could become the number one in 2023/24, suppose De Gea struggles to impress.
