With the last season not going as planned for Romelu Lukaku, who appeared unhappy playing under Tuchel and his system, and with the controversy surrounding the infamous interview and bleak performances since then, the Belgian striker wants to return to Inter Milan. Romelu Lukaku is Chelsea's top scorer this season in all competitions with 15 goals, but the 29 year old did not live up to the heavy price tag he was brought in for. £97.5 million brought inconsistant performances, controversies which led to him being left on the bench in decisive matches in the Champions League and Premier League. The dream return to Chelsea didn't turn out well and Lukaku is looking for a way out, with Inter being the top priority for the Belgian.

With how much money Chelsea paid for Lukaku in mind, his exit from the London club will not be easy. Chelsea would probably want what they paid for him back if a deal is to be done. Chelsea will demand a loan fee close to £20 million for Lukaku, who earns at least £8.5 million, although there have been suggestions that he is prepared to take a reduction in wages.
