Donny van de Beek wants to leave Man Utd?
Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is open to leaving the club this summer despite the arrival of Erik ten Hag as manager.
The Netherlands international joined the Red Devils from Ajax in the summer of 2020, but has since made just five Premier League starts.
It has been anticipated that his fortunes could change under Ten Hag, who knows him very well from their time together at Ajax.
However, Corriere della Sera cites that the midfielder is still keen on leaving the Red Devils amid transfer interest from Roma.
Van de Beek is set to figure in pre-season for United, but is wary of missing out on the World Cup if he can't secure a starting berth.
United are expected to pursue at least one midfielder. Whoever joins the club this summer is very likely to command a starting role.
With the presence of Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay and Fred in the squad, Van de Beek is unsure over his league minutes.
Van de Beek has been out of the national team for 12 months, but remains optimistic of reclaiming his spot ahead of the World Cup.
