Chelsea handed boost in signing Brighton star
Chelsea have been handed a boost in signing Brighton & Hove Albion star Leandro Trossard in the New Year.
The Belgian has been superb for the Seagulls this campaign, registering seven goals and three assists from 14 games.
His progress has caught the eye of several clubs and Standard Sport claim that Chelsea are clearly in the driving seat.
Trossard's agent has offered the midfielder to the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, but neither are interested in him.
Chelsea are currently in pole position to sign the Belgian and a transfer could materialise in the next transfer window.
Trossard's contract with Brighton expires at the end of the campaign, but the club have the option to extend for 12 months.
They are expected to trigger the clause in the coming days such that their player can't speak with foreign clubs in January.
Brighton are likely to command around £30m to part ways with the 27-year-old during the upcoming winter transfer window.
